How we handle your data — built for attorney confidentiality.
Zero Document Retention
Your uploaded documents are processed entirely in memory and are never written to disk or persistent storage. The original file is discarded immediately after text extraction and redaction. Only the final analysis report (which contains no original document content) is stored in your account.
Automatic Redaction
Before any content reaches our AI analysis engine, CiteCheck automatically identifies and redacts: client names, case numbers, privileged content markers (attorney-client privilege, work product), email addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, and street addresses. The AI model only ever sees the redacted version of your document.
What We Store
- ✓Your account information (email, hashed password)
- ✓Analysis reports (issue descriptions, severity, verification results)
- ✓File metadata (filename, upload timestamp, purge timestamp)
- ✗Original documents — never stored
- ✗Redacted content — never stored
Third-Party AI Processing
Redacted document text is sent to Anthropic (Claude) for analysis and to Perplexity for citation verification. Both services process data under their respective enterprise terms. No original or unredacted content is ever transmitted to third parties.
Data Deletion
You can delete any report from your dashboard at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at support@citecheck.tech. Account deletion is processed within 48 hours and removes all stored reports and account information.
